Vehicle Description

The air-cooled Porsche 911s have been hot for quite some time now and the strong market for them shows no signs of letting up. Elemental, quick, agile and offering an involving and entertaining driving experience like no other, it's no wonder these 911s are so sought after. Here we have an incredible example of a 1982 911 SC coupe. This unrestored 911 has enjoyed a pampered life from day one, having always been properly maintained and garaged. As a result, this 911 SC is in beautiful condition. The original Guards Red paint was fully detailed to bring back its brilliant shine, and the factory Fuchs wheels and Turbo-style rear spoiler add the perfect exclamation point to this Porsche. Inside, the Saddle Tan leather upholstery is in excellent condition, with the seat cushions/side bolsters of the optional Sport seats still being firmly supportive and retaining their shape, in keeping with the Porsche’s low mileage. Other feature highlights include A/C, power sunroof, power windows and factory-correct Blaupunkt AM/FM/Cassette audio system. The Porsche's 3.0-liter flat six puts out a stout 180 horsepower -- keep in mind this is when the Corvette’s 5.7-liter V8 made only 200 hp – and sends the power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. With the 911 weighing less than 2,800 pounds, the Porsche’s performance was thrilling with 0-60 in around 5.7 seconds, a quarter mile in 14.8 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph. Handling and braking are also incredible, with communicative steering, sticky tires and large four-wheel disc brakes. Note that this car has had fairly recent and very comprehensive maintenance work done with the cost approaching $30,000. Highlights include a new clutch, new oil lines, new throttle sensor, rebuilt Bosch fuel injection system and a rebuild of the sunroof mechanism. Furthermore, the full inspection revealed that the timing chain tensioner update was previously done and that the head studs were in excellent condition. With only 57k original miles, this very well kept and original 911 SC represents a rare opportunity, as most of this era’s 911s have a lot of miles on them thanks to their stout reliability and incredibly high “fun to drive” factor. As expected, this example runs great and comes with the owner’s manual, warranty booklet and maintenance records.
