Vehicle Description

This Corvette has been owned by the same, uber-finicky 72-year-old owner for the past 45 years, and he knows the 3 previous owners before him personally, so the history of this car is very well known. The owner can elaborate on this in great detail, and I can put any genuinely serious buyer for the car in touch with him to discuss those topics. This Vette is a rare factory power window car, of which there were only 700-1000 produced (data sources vary). It's also the last year of a Corvette having a trunk or exposed headlights until 2005. Lots of detail below about this excellent & iconic car. PAINT/BODY: * Exceptionally clean, no-hit body. No damage, and no paintwork is required. Very nice driver quality. * Despite how good it looks, the Honduras Red paint is over 50 years old, which is a testament to the love and care this car has received over the years. It's not without its minor flaws that come from owning and driving a 60+ yr old car with 50+ yr old paint. If having a fresh, $30k paint job is paramount to you, this one isn't that. If however, a beautiful driver that can be fully enjoyed to its limits is your jam, this will give you all that and more. * The coves are painted a more orange-y metallic to provide subtle contrast. It's very subtle in all but the flattest light angles. * Nearly all (if not all) of the chrome and trim is original and hasn't been redone. * No missing pieces, parts, or trim whatsoever. If it's supposed to be there, it's there. MECHANICAL: * NOM solid lifter LT1 350cid/370hp V8 out of a 1970 Camaro Z28. * Reworked heads w/hardened valve seats and slightly lower compression to accommodate today's gasoline. * Brand new Holley Street Brawler 4bbl carburetor * Pertronix ignition for easy, instant starts, and smooth idle * Exceptionally clean engine bay, with no major leaks or issues. * New steel flywheel, scattershield & block plate * Rebuilt 4-speed transmission, Hurst shifter, and rebuilt clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing * 4.11 posi rear end * All new brakes, including lines, shoes, cylinders, hoses, and the original master cylinder was resleeved/reinstalled * Factory GM offroad exhaust system (not original to car, but been on it for 50+ years, which is a testament to it being properly warmed up EVERY time it was run). * All suspension components rebuilt/replaced throughout the car--rides, drives, turns, and stops as it did when new. INTERIOR: * All new black upholstery. * All new high quality carpet and matching floor mats. * Power window motors both rebuilt and function properly. * All gauges were removed, rebuilt, tested, and reinstalled and are in working order. * Original clock rebuilt with quartz movement. * New complete wiring harness installed (original harness retained). All lights and electric functions work (except horn). * New heater box installed (heat works great). * New seat belts installed * Steering wheel restored * Modern stereo head unit installed (original Wonderbar radio included). WHEELS/TIRES: * Like new 225/75/15 radial tires with the clean "smooth" retro racer appearance * Show quality painted steel wheels matched to car's exterior paint * Show quality correct "poverty" caps to complete the muscular look TOPS: * Comes with auxiliary hard top in excellent condition that fits and locks into position like it should * Original white soft top and frame comes with the car, but is not currently installed This is not a 100-point NCRS restoration car (in other words--a giant coffee table in your garage), and the price clearly reflects this. It is, however a powerful, thoughtfully built/restored driver in absolutely tip-top condition from every aspect, with documented ownership history. It is mechanically as good as you will ever find, with no known issues. A TON of documentation comes with the car, including maintenance/repair receipts, and notes on oil
